It sits closer to the eye than the ear. There is no real pressure behind the ears. I feel that the area around the ears has too many nerves and will \"bite\" a horse too much.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLike my other tiedowns, it is hand braided from one specially selected type of rope. Because it is one continuous piece, there is no heavy or clunky connection where the strap begins.
